MIMMIT KOODAA EVENT

During fall 2020, me and my colleague Kati Hakala had the privilege to speak about our careers and UX design basics at This is not a Webinar -event organised by Mimmit Koodaa -program. The program focuses on increasing diversity and inclusion on IT businesses by encouraging women to study and work software related fields. In our presentation, along the basics into UX design, we wanted to show that there is no one path to UX design careers, or no right school to study in. In the end it comes down to wanting to understand people and make their lives easier, and then finding the correct tools to achieve it.
For me, this was my first time speaking in front of a professional TV-set. Due to the restrictions caused by COVID-19 during 2020, the event went fully virtual despite the original plans. As a speaker, it was very valuable experience for me seeing how different things work through the camera when compared to live events.
